Terms & Conditions and Privacy

Terms of service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Psychology of Dreams LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"), which runs psychologyofdreams.com (the "service"). By ticking "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" when you open an account, or by using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Psychology of Dreams is a self-reflection and educational service for adults. It offers a guided conversation about your dreams with an AI model, working from a method of dream interpretation written for this service and grounded in the tradition of depth psychology. The replies you receive are written by artificial intelligence, not by a person.

2. What the service is not

The service is not therapy or psychotherapy, not counselling, not mental or behavioral health care, and not medical care, diagnosis or treatment of any kind. It does not offer, and must not be used as, a substitute for any of them. Nothing in it is professional advice.

It is not emergency support.

The service is offered only as a self-reflection and educational service. If you use it, or understand it, as any of the services listed above, you do so at your own risk and on your own responsibility.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old. By opening an account you confirm that you are.

4. Your account

An account is an email address you choose and a password. We do not ask for your name or anything else that identifies you.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Keep access to the email address you sign up with: it is the only way to reset your password, and because there is no identity behind the account, we cannot restore access if you lose that inbox.

5. Credit and payment

You buy credit in advance, and each exchange in a conversation uses some of it. Prices are those shown on the service at the time you buy, and credit is used at the rates in force on the day you use it. The minimum top-up is shown when you buy.

Credit does not expire. There is no subscription, and nothing is charged automatically: every payment is one you start. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details.

Refunds. Unused credit is not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If you were charged in error, or a fault in the service used up your credit, write to us and we will put it right.

6. How you may use the service

Use the service only for its purpose: working with your own dreams. Do not:

  • use it to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • try to extract, copy or reconstruct the method, instructions or other material behind the service, or use the service to build a competing product;
  • interfere with the service, test its security without our written permission, or access it by automated means;
  • share your account, or open accounts to get around a limit or a block.

7. Your content

What you write is yours: your dreams, your journal, About Me and your messages. You allow us to store and process it to provide the service, which includes sending it to the AI provider that writes the replies, and to read a sample of stored conversations, chosen at random, to check that the service works as it should and to improve it. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or publish it. How we handle it is set out in the Privacy policy.

8. Our content

The service, its method, its software and its texts belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only to use the service.

9. No guarantees

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Replies are generated by AI: they can be incomplete, mistaken or unsuitable, and the service is not fully predictable. We do not guarantee any particular result, insight or outcome, or that the service will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from decisions you make based on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Ending your account

You may delete your account at any time from My Account. Deleting it erases your dreams, journal, conversations and About Me permanently, as described on the service. Unused credit is lost when you delete your account.

We may restrict or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or others at risk, is the subject of a payment dispute, or abuses refunds. A restricted account can still sign in, read its dreams, journal and conversations, and be deleted, but cannot start or continue a conversation, write anything new, or buy credit. A closed account cannot sign in; to have its content erased, write to us.

12. Changes

We may change the service or these terms. If we make a significant change to the terms, we will tell members before it takes effect, by email or on the service. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

13. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute relating to the service will be decided by the state or federal courts for Lake County, Florida, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.

You and we each agree to bring claims only as individuals, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action.

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This policy explains what Psychology of Dreams LLC ("we", "us") keeps when you use psychologyofdreams.com, why, who else sees it, and how long it is kept. We have tried to write it plainly. The short version: we never ask who you are, we keep only what the service needs, and you can delete what you write at any time.

1. We don't ask who you are

An account is an email address you choose and a password. We never ask for your name, phone number, address or anything else that identifies you, and we don't try to work it out.

2. What we keep

Your account. Your email address, your password (stored only as a one-way scrambled "hash", so nobody can read it, us included), your settings, the date you joined and when you were last here.

What you write and your conversations. Your dream journal, About Me, your conversations, and the records the service makes from them to provide the service. These are kept until you delete them.

Payments. A record of what you paid, when, and the credit you used. Payments themselves are handled by Stripe: we never receive or store your card details.

Visits. While you are signed in, a short record that your account was active at a given time, together with the time zone your browser reports, so we can see when the service is used. These records are deleted after 30 days; only daily and hourly totals that name nobody are kept after that.

Internet addresses. To limit abuse (for example, too many sign-up attempts), we keep your internet (IP) address only in one-way scrambled form, changed every day, and delete it after 72 hours. Visitors who are not signed in are counted the same way. For the same purpose we keep, for 72 hours, a one-way scrambled mark of an email address typed into the sign-up or password-reset forms; the address itself cannot be read from it.

Sign-in attempts. Each sign-in and failed sign-in is recorded. If a sign-in fails, the email address typed is kept for 180 days, so attempts to break into an account can be spotted, and is then removed; the count stays.

Messages you send us. A message through the Contact form, with the reply address you give, is kept until we have dealt with it and then for 180 days. Feedback you send from inside your account is kept as feedback about the service, even if you later delete your account.

3. Why we keep it

To run the service and your account; to let the AI continue your work from one session to the next; to take and record payments; to keep the service secure and stop abuse; to answer you when you write; and to understand how the service is used and improve it.

From time to time, the people who build and run this service could read a sample of stored conversations, chosen at random, to make sure it works as it should and to improve it.

4. Who else sees it

What you write and your conversations belong to your account alone: each member can see only their own, so no other member can see yours, and you cannot see theirs. We never sell your information, use it for advertising, or publish your dreams. A few companies each do one job for us and see only what that job needs:

  • Anthropic, the AI provider that writes the replies, receives your conversation (with About Me and the records made for the service) in order to answer. Under its terms for business customers it deletes this within 30 days (up to 2 years if a conversation is flagged as breaking its usage rules), and does not use it to train its models.
  • Stripe processes payments and sees the card details you give it.
  • Postmark sends our emails and sees your email address and the messages we send you.
  • Render hosts our servers and database.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks, on the sign-up form only, that you are a person and not an automated program. It sees your internet address and technical details of your browser at that moment.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in answer to a valid court order.

5. Emails

We send messages about your own account (verification, password resets, receipts) and notices about changes to the terms or this policy; these are not optional. Service announcements (planned maintenance, an outage, a change to the service) can be turned off under My Account. Occasional news about the service is sent only if the box was left ticked at sign-up, and every such message has a link that turns it off in one click.

6. Cookies

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 14 days or until you sign out. If you start typing a message and leave the page, your browser keeps the unsent text in that tab only, and it is gone when the tab closes. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

7. How long things are kept

  • What you write, your conversations and the records made from them: until you delete them or your account.
  • Visit records: 30 days. Scrambled internet addresses: 72 hours.
  • Email addresses typed at failed sign-ins: 180 days.
  • Contact messages: until dealt with, then 180 days.
  • Payment records, and your email address, after an account is deleted: kept, because financial records have to be. They hold nothing of your dreams.
  • Backups: encrypted copies of the whole service, kept for up to 30 days. If a backup is ever restored, every deletion made since is applied again straight away.

8. Your choices

You can delete a single dream or conversation, or your whole account, at any time. Deleting your account erases your dreams, journal, conversations, About Me and everything kept about them permanently; it cannot be undone. You can turn emails off as described above. For anything else, use the Contact form.

9. Security

The site is reached only over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored only as hashes, and backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to what the service needs.

10. Adults only

The service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly keep information from anyone younger; if we learn of it, we delete the account.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell members before the change takes effect, by email or on the service.

12. Contact

Deleting your dreams and your account

Deleting a single dream or conversation

You can delete a single dream or conversation from your dream journal whenever you like. A deleted dream cannot be brought back, and neither can anything written about it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your whole account at any time, from My Account. Deleting your account is final. Your dreams, your journal, your conversations, About Me and everything kept about them are erased permanently. There is no undo, no waiting period in which you could change your mind, and no copy set aside for support or safekeeping. If you delete your account and want it back tomorrow, the answer will be that it does not exist.

Unused credit is lost when you delete your account.

What is kept

Two things are kept. One is your email address, which stays with the closed account, so it can't be used to sign up again. The other is the record of payments and credit used, which holds amounts and dates only, never anything from your dreams, and is kept because financial records have to be.

Backups

To keep the service safe from failures, it is backed up, and the backups are encrypted and kept only for a short time. If one is ever restored, your deletion is applied again straight away, so nothing you erased comes back.

This is not therapy

Psychology of Dreams is a self-reflection and educational service: a way of reflecting on your own life through your dreams.
